Little Monster

For this Halloween I have decided to make a few costumes for close family members. I have started with my niece who is going to be The Terrible Two's Monster. I have started from the bottom with these cute little googlie eyes shoes. These shoes can be used for other costumes like a spider ,a witch or for everyday cool flats for school.

side ways picture but you get the idea

things to use:
tape- I used scotch tape
glue- I used E600 but you can use mod podge
glitter- any color will due but ours is black and fine
googlie eyes- different sizes is best.
spreading tool- Popsicle stick are great I used the back side of a key because I like how the spaces in the key take out the extra glue.

step1:

tape off all the edges that you don't want glue or extra glitter to get on.

stuff the shoes with tissue paper and place thin cardboard paper around the inside heal area so the shoes will keep there shape while you work with them.

its a good idea to wear gloves during this project glitter and glue will get in the way when its stuck to you.

step 2:

I trimmed the edges of the shoe and strap with the glitter.

so working in small sections apply glue directly to the shoe and spread evenly.

hold the shoe over the foil lined box and sprinkle glitter onto the glue. pressing down firmly to set it into place and making sure it doesn't have any empty gaps.

do the same for the strap and other shoe. set both aside to dry.

step 3:

scatter eyes around the shoe to see which placement you like best. both shoes don't have to be the same and look better if they don't.

you can apply glue directly to the shoes surface in sections or on the backing of the eyes its self.

start with the large eyes and fill in the gaps with smaller ones and then start stacking left over over gaps.

Step 4:

peel off the tape and leave your googlie eye shoes to dry over night.

for an extra touch of 3D cuteness I placed fluffy black pom-poms in a row down the backs of the shoes.

once the shoes have completely dried, the little ones will be ready for a spooktacular night.

with glittering eyes watching through the night....... ;-)
