Being Paparazzi Ready

The only only thing worse than taking a horrible picture is knowing you spent hours getting all vamped up just to have your sparkle disappear instead of your reflection.
Your morning long process has to start with a blank canvas, and I mean blank to the pore. Begin with cleansing and prepping the face with your choice of what ever you like best. I have many different products that I use and tricks up my sleeve that I share openly but my favorite is a basic over the counter facial scrub. I like the Buffy feeling.
A million things affect our photos , lights, angle, photographer but the things that  you can control own them. Make up is part of your daily lives and can have the most positive or negative affect. Always use a make up primer if you haven't found a favorite start with HD primers. These primers were created for taking pictures. they allow your make up to do its J O B by giving the air brushed feel and look to your face we all want.
Bright flashes of light expose imperfection. Anything dark or red will try to strike a pose with you. Camouflage as best you can with your skin tone corecter and define your best features with bronzer's and blush. Choosing brands that have light catching flecks will enhance your radiance that no camera can miss.
Shine should be for hair and lips only so blot with oil absorbing sheets keeping them handy at all times and powder your nose and forehead right before any snaps are taken.

As always I welcome our glittery followers, you should too. :-)
get ready for those close ups...... chella~

History of Fashion: Earrings

Hello Chella International fans, this is Miyuki and I will be doing at least once a month blog pieces about the history on different things in fashion. Today I want to share a piece of history about earrings to start of my “History of Fashion” segments.  Earrings originated in Asia and the Middle East some say dating back to third millennium BC which is further back than I would have expected.  The first earring designs were hoops and pendants. They were both very popular with both men and woman. Who said men can’t be fashionable with earrings? Even the Egyptian King Tutankhamen wore earrings. It is said that Egyptians preferred to have their earrings made of Gold while the Greeks would make their earrings with multi-colored gemstones instead.  There are a few reasons why piercing ears and decorating them with jewelry became a trend one is based off a legend that evil spirits were able to enter the body through your ears, so to ward off these possible evil spirits one would of course adorn your ears with metals to keep those nasty spirits at bay.  Earrings were also a way to show your status or what family you were from when your clothing was not able to show the distinction. Also earrings were known to be given to wives as a symbol of marriage and in case of divorce the worth of the earring could secure her financial future. Ladies don’t we all wish up front for a “just in case it don’t work out you don’t have to worry” gift; it sounds like a good idea to me. In some places today in Africa and in the Middle East they still carry out this old practice. Earrings have evolved since these times, from the different styles to the different materials used to make them and to what they stand for today. But at the end earrings just as many different adornments worn today are worn to make a statement, to decorate our bodies and help us feel beautiful and to show the world our own personal style. My personal favorite kind of earrings is the chandelier, like these lovely earrings here:

Remember fans stay above just the trends and remember your personal style comes first always.
Till next time, Miyuki (Mama Snow Writes) ^_^
